Since I began working with MHEDA about nine years ago, the association has started some really cool initiatives. From the Women in Industry MHEDA-NET Group and Conference, the Learning Management System, Regional Networking Meetings and countless other member offerings that MHEDA has introduced, I feel like I’ve had a front row seat to a very evolutionary time for the association.
Urban Organics is a company based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with a noble mission, “To fix a broken food system one delicious meal at a time.” For Urban Organics, this is a simple concept. “Local equals fresh. Fresh equals nutritious. Nutritious equals healthy, for people and community.” The company came up with a solution to what they say as the broken food system, to farm with aquaponics, where fish and plants help each other grow. While the concept is simple, Urban Organics needed somebody to bring that vision from concept to reality. So they contacted AK Material Handling Systems (Maple Grove, MN).
