In response to continued sales increases, Ohio Gratings, Inc., has named Shaun Eller as the new chief operating officer (COO). The move is designed to keep the company focused on growth around the customer and its commitment to “make it right and ship when promised.”

Eller, who brings 22 years of experience with the company, takes over his new role in September. While maintaining an unwavering commitment to customers, Eller will be responsible for daily operations, reporting directly to CEO John Bartley.

“By focusing on operations, an area I am very familiar with, our CEO can concentrate on strategic decisions to help propel us forward to even more success,” says Eller.
In his years with the company, Eller has been involved in nearly every aspect of Ohio Gratings’ business including drafting and design, sales and logistics, and human resources. He served as general manager of OGI Texas for five years before becoming vice president in 2016.
“I enjoy problem-solving and employee development, and I can’t wait to continue that as Ohio Gratings’ next COO,” says Eller. “We take initiative, and that’s what I like best about the team.”

Headquartered in Canton, Ohio, Ohio Gratings is the only privately owned, full-line grating manufacturer in North America. It produces grating for pedestrian walkways, bridge decking, platforms and catwalks. Serving clients across the country, Ohio Gratings provides products for large-scale, highly visible projects such as Big River Crossing, the longest pedestrian walkway spanning the Mississippi.

According to Bartley, the company prides itself in remaining a step ahead of the competition.

“On our factory floor, metal is transformed to make the grating products that take people places,” says Bartley. “We’re problem-solvers who take bold action in the industry. Promoting long-time employee Shaun Eller to the role of COO allows us to continue strategically moving forward.”

Eller and his family look forward to moving from Texas to the company’s headquarters in Canton.
